Job description
The post-holder will assist with Foyle Women’s Aid accommodation admissions within our residential settings and will provide practical support for clients, ensuring that our services are comfortable, welcoming, supportive and a safe place to live, whilst establishing and maintaining positive relationships. .
Responsibilities
- Work in a supportive role, engaging with women and families
- Promote & develop a relaxing and positive environment in residential accommodation
- Ensure preparation & cleaning of accommodation for arrival/departure of new clients
- Complete inventory checklists on each accommodation unit prior to & after occupation
- Prepare conference rooms & catering for meetings/training/events
- First point of contact at reception, providing warm welcome by greeting incoming guests/clients
- Effectively answer/screen/transfer incoming calls, providing basic information when required & communication of messages
- Record and distribute incoming post
- Distribute Welcome Packs to new residents
- Collect and record weekly charge payments from clients
- Conduct spot checks in accommodation to ensure health & safety regulations are being adhered to
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year experience working with young people/vulnerable adults in paid capacity
- Experience in reception or administration duties
- Experience in conducting Health and Safety checks
- Competence in MS Office and report-writing
- Proven ability to work flexibly as part of a team & take responsibility for own work with minimum supervision
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to handle pressure and to be adaptable to changing demands
- Full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes
- Work evenings and weekends on weekly basis as part of rota
Desirable Skills
- At least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- At least 2 years experience working with young people/vulnerable adults in a paid capacity
- Experience of working in a residential setting
