Job description

The post-holder will assist with Foyle Women’s Aid accommodation admissions within our residential settings and will provide practical support for clients, ensuring that our services are comfortable, welcoming, supportive and a safe place to live, whilst establishing and maintaining positive relationships. .

Responsibilities

  • Work in a supportive role, engaging with women and families
  • Promote & develop a relaxing and positive environment in residential accommodation
  • Ensure preparation & cleaning of accommodation for arrival/departure of new clients
  • Complete inventory checklists on each accommodation unit prior to & after occupation
  • Prepare conference rooms & catering for meetings/training/events
  • First point of contact at reception, providing warm welcome by greeting incoming guests/clients
  • Effectively answer/screen/transfer incoming calls, providing basic information when required & communication of messages
  • Record and distribute incoming post
  • Distribute Welcome Packs to new residents
  • Collect and record weekly charge payments from clients
  • Conduct spot checks in accommodation to ensure health & safety regulations are being adhered to

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year experience working with young people/vulnerable adults in paid capacity
  • Experience in reception or administration duties
  • Experience in conducting Health and Safety checks
  • Competence in MS Office and report-writing
  • Proven ability to work flexibly as part of a team & take responsibility for own work with minimum supervision
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to handle pressure and to be adaptable to changing demands
  • Full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes
  • Work evenings and weekends on weekly basis as part of rota

Desirable Skills

  • At least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • At least 2 years experience working with young people/vulnerable adults in a paid capacity
  • Experience of working in a residential setting
