Job description
Under the BST Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing a business model that delivers on the organisations strategic objectives through diversifying income streams and developing a social economy model for the Museum of Free Derry and the Derry Model Conflict transformation work nationally and internationally..
Responsibilities
- Deliver on BST Strategic objectives by diversifying current models of income streams
- Write proposals for bids specialising in tourism and return on investment for Museum of Free Derry and Derry’s conflict transformation model towards a national and international audience
- Engage with the Stakeholders, Derry City & Strabane District Council, Visit Derry, Education providers, Tourism NI, Tourism Ireland, and others
- Implement marketing strategy- work towards inclusion in Media/Multi-Media local and national marking plans and strategic plans
- Dedicate time to support the wider strategic development of the organisation
- Develop the full potential of the Museum of Free Derry as a social economy model and evidence base the museum as a key economic driver for the city and region
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification at NVQ Level 5 in business management/administration and two years experience of office administration to include financial reporting
- OR three years experience of office administration that has included Business Development
- AND (in addition to above) Knowledge of internal and external reporting on Project Progress
- Experience of working with statutory and/or voluntary sector agencies in business development
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to work on own initiative, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Resilient and able to respond positively to the pressures and demands of the role
- Working knowledge of relevant software packages such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full driving licence and access to transport or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of mobility
Desirable Skills
- Hold a professional business qualification
- Experience of Human Resources
- Understanding of funding sources and financial reporting to funding bodies
