To ensure effective service delivery through the direct line management of Childline Counsellors (volunteers and/or paid staff)..

To promote and deliver best practice within the service and, through the Childline Team Manager, ensure this is used to inform internal and external influencing
To ensure that performance within the service is monitored, reviewed, evaluated and reported against identified objectives, targets and standards.
To actively contribute to service development through the Childline Team Manager.

Essential Skills

Candidates must hold a relevant certificate level qualification or an NVQ 3 or 4. Candidates must be able to evidence that the qualification held includes modules/elements of working with children and young people as a central component.
Experience of effectively engaging and communicating with children and young people.
Up to date knowledge of child protection systems, best practice, research and legislation.
Experience of supervising staff and/or volunteers in a relevant setting
Experience of making child protection risk assessments.
