Job description
The Health and Safety Manager will be part of the management team within the Corporate Services Directorate and will be responsible for developing, managing and coordinating Health and Safety for the wider organisation. The primary role of the Health and Safety Manager is to lead, develop, implement and monitor the application of the Safety, Health and Welfare Policy and to provide specialist advice on all safety matters relevant to the Agency. The post holder will support and advise the Senior Management Team on Health and Safety management matters to ensure that the Agency complies with its legal and statutory obligations and demonstrates best practice in safety management. The Health and Safety Manager will also be required to lead on the development and implementation of a Health and Safety Improvement Programme aligned to ISO 45001 accreditation. .
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Agencys Health and Safety Management System including policies, procedures, rules and regulations are fit for purpose, implemented and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety at level 5 (or higher) on the QCF Framework.
Desirable Skills
- Possess an understanding of the factors involved in working and managing Health and Safety in two jurisdictions.
